    @6 minutes into the video you said the ewes will have weaker immune system, body right after giving birth. I was curious if giving them electrolyte or small amount of sugar in water can bounce that back faster? People do this with newly hatched chicks sometimes when they are really weak, and this is why I ask. (Will this idea help you somehow?)

    How do you manage being in more than 1 place at a time, with only 1 person running a sheep farm, and with not being around them all the time? Do you have to be there all the time with them, or how do you manage that? I'm also curious to ask how people manage moving them to another pasture when you can't get a new pasture that's right next to their first one(s)? This seems messy.

    When you are multitasking and have to do other things, or travel, how do you work out the ideal interval to check on the sheep? You probably aren't out there 24/7 right? so how does that work?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I made this cheese yesterday and it didn't hold together. After the 15 minutes with the 5 pound weight on it was separate curds and broke apart when I tried to turn it. It did form a mat when I strained the whey but after I broke them apart it wouldn't go back together. I still went with the whole process of the 12 hour weights and it does stay together but I can see the individual curds. Should I skip the 3 day aging and just put it in the fridge? I don't know what to do with it now. I'm wondering if it is more susceptible to mold. What could have caused this? I would like to try again but I'd like to have an idea where I went wrong first. Thank you for any help you can offer!

    It’s great that goats can clear vegetation so well.. Where I live in the central Sierra of central california we have fire problems and goats are great for eating the flash fuels.. Especially thelight fuels under forest trees.. By eliminating flash fuel you cut out the rapid rate of spread and this can stop fire from spreading to crown fires.. This is a win win the goats get fat, no chainsaws needed and fires are less likely to spread fast..

      Every five years we use a local goat herder to clear brush, we're prone to a lot of poison ivy and sumac and the goats devour it no problem.

    How's this hold up against predators? specifically raccoons? Have you had loss from predators with it? If so how bad?

    • @YouCanFarm
      @YouCanFarm 3 дня назад

      It holds up pretty well against predators. I do not think we have had any losses from Raccoons, yet. We have had some predator losses. The predators dig under the tractor. We mainly have foxes that do that. The way we have solved this issue is by putting a single hot wire around the bottom of the tractor.

    Hello, Thank you for the video as I love animals. But please could people stop to anthropomorphise the name of new born animals : sheeps have no "son" nor "daughter" as those two name are specific for human specie persons. There is a name for those new born : lamb !! Male lamb or female lamb. "Son and daughter" is ridiculous and even not healthy.

    I have a Juniper too. I got her (Joseybean) from my daughter’s boyfriend. She’ll be 2 in August. She has the exact same coloring as Juniper and acts just like Juniper does in your video. I’m not sure how valid DNA testing is, but my daughter got me a kit for Christmas last year. Results say she’s 51% Catahoula and 49% Blue Heeler. I wanted to share a photo of her with ya, but I couldn’t figure out how to post it. 🥲

Someone posted due to a divorce, the had a pure bred Catahoula free to a good home. And someone posted this link. And said please review this video, before adopting a Catahoula. Hopefully they do. Most people don't realize a high energy, highly intelligent dogs. Need that constant stimulation. Thanks for sharing this :)
